Lake Cowichan is a community located near Duncan, British Columbia.
It is located just up the Cowichan Valley Highway from Duncan and northwest from Downtown Victoria. Downtown Victoria is located about 90 road kilometres away, around a one hour and 15 minute drive.
Lake Cowichan is a growing community of approximately 3,000 people in town and another 3,500 in the surrounding area. The area is beautiful and and features the Cowichan River which flows through the center of town. The river has also been designated as a heritage river. There is also close access to Cowichan Lake which is one of the largest freshwater lakes on Vancouver Island.

The Lake Cowichan real estate market is mostly made up of homes that were constructed before 1960. However, there was quite a lot of construction in the area between 1961 and 2000 making for limited recent inventory. Generally, Lake Cowichan homes for sale are quite large in size and have between three and four bedrooms. Homes are also situated on small neighbourhoods roads that are quiet for local residents.

You can also go see Lake Cowichan's new junior hockey team, the Lake Cowichan Kraken which is the newest expansion to the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.
Although small, the village at the center of town also includes a number of local stores and restaurants specifically around Lakeview Avenue.
Further north is also Cowichan Lake which is a beautiful 30 km long lake that is perfect for swimming, boating and fishing.
