It is located up the Trans-Canada Highway and northwest of Downtown Victoria. Downtown Victoria is located about 55 road kilometres away, around a 50 minute drive.

Cowichan Bay is a bay and community that is situated on the east coast of Southern Vancouver Island and is located near the mouth of the Cowichan River. Cowichan Bay is known for its amazing scenic views of the bay and its fishing which is one of its largest industries along with tourism.

Mount Tzouhalem and its array of hiking trails are also situated in the area, just north of the village.
