About Cadboro Bay
Cadboro Bay is a neighbourhood located in Saanich East, British Columbia.
It is a suburb of the city of Victoria, which lies to the southwest. Downtown Victoria is located about 7.5 road kilometres away, around a 15 minute drive.
Cadboro Bay is a community and bay situated between the University of Victoria, the Uplands district to the south, Ten Mile Point to the east, and the Queenswood and Arbutus neighbourhoods. The Cadboro-Gyro Park, its most popular location, is jointly named after the bay upon which it sits and the Gyro Club, which in 1953 purchased the original 1.78 hectares of parkland from the Goward Estate. In 1954, the Club donated the land to Saanich and in 1961 Saanich began acquiring adjacent parcels. Today, the park is 6.18 hectares in size and is a landmark of the neighbourhood.
There are several good schools in the area including the University of Victoria which is a renowned post-secondary institution located just up the street.
